CAST Computerized Administration of SAP Transport Requests
CAST automates logging all changes made to an R/3 System. Besides that it simplifies a number of processes such as authorizing the application of system changes, testing and communicating changes to the system/transport administrator.

 

CAST is written in Visual Basic and consist out of:

CAST User Program, as the front-end to work with the CAST functionality

CAST Server Program, which uses an ACCESS Database to administer the SAP transport requests

 

The CAST User Program performs the following major functions:

Replacement of existing paper based form for recording transport requests

Implements workflow for authorizing the application changes

Records test results for each transport request

Produces a printout of the transport form

Creates an html document of the transport form

Guides the user through the whole SAP transport cycle (Development, Training, Production
